Three new hirelings enter the fray: the Freshwater Refugees, Heartwood Peacemakers, and the neutral Prosperous Farmers. Each comes with a double-sided tarot card and new meeples, adding even more variety to your games of Root.

Some pieces from the Homeland Hirelings Pack are shown. A duck with a wide-brim hat with a flower in it pushes a wheelbarrow with a plant sprouting from it. This is the Farmer hireling. Next to it is its meeple and the card for the Prosperous Farmers, which lets you draw cards for farm buildings you rule, and then lets you either battle with farmers or place new farmers at farms. Also, players cannot score points by removing farms.
